Fizbo and Katie - look at us now ...

Four years ago, youngster Katie Tuppen of Mere Green visited a rescue cat called Kevin, and instantly fell in love with his cute pink nose! Well, who wouldn’t? And four years on, both couldn’t be happier or more devoted!

Here’s what the now 15-year-old Katie has written to the North Birmingham Cats Protection fosterer, Sheila, to let her know how much in love the pair still are. She has offered to volunteer to ‘help cats too’ for her Duke of Edinburgh award. Well done Katie and it’s lovely to hear from you! Purrs to Fizbo too, of course.

“My name is Katie Tuppen and I adopted Fizbo (although when we first met him he was called Kevin) in 2014 when he was just 4 months old. I adopted him because my mom promised me a cat if I did well in my SATs tests. Fizbo was the first cat I met and instantly I fell in love with him and decided he was the one without looking at any other cats! He was so cute and had the most adorable little pink nose. Four years later Fizbo is still as adorable as when I first got him. He is still as playful and often sleeps on my bed. I’m so glad I found him! Adopting from Cats Protection was great, Sheila was so friendly and helped us with all the paper work and made the adoption process really easy. So thank you Sheila and thank you Cats Protection for helping me find my beautiful Fizbo!”

** If any other youngsters – or anyone who is cat-keen – want to volunteer at the Cats Protection shop on Erdington High Street, do call the CP helpline or call in at the shop, meet with managers Anita and Gabriela and the friendly crew, and complete an application form. You will be very welcome!
