Forget-me-not remembers the cats ...

Forget-me-not remembers the cats ...

A New Year talk about the care of cats and the work of Cats Protection – locally and nationally – was ‘much enjoyed’ by a group of carers of people with memory problems who meet at St Anne’s in Streetly.

Sheila Pennell, a North Birmingham Branch education volunteer, went along on the 10 January to answer cat questions, see what everyone already knew via a cat quiz, and to present on the 90+ year history of the charity.

Education speaker Sheila, pictured with carers Barbara and Colin of the Forget-me-not friendship group in Streetly, where everyone enjoyed a Cats Protection talk

Says Sheila: “The group of a dozen or so were really engaged, very interested and spoke of occasions when Cats Protection had helped them or others they knew. Three came from Leicester, one of whom had been a volunteer with the RSPCA. The friendship group – called ‘Forget-me-not’ - made me very welcome – coffee, cake, and a donation cheque to help us care for needy cats and kittens in North Birmingham.”

*Any organisation, group or school that would like a Cats Protection talk, workshop or presentation, can call the helpline and an education volunteer will make contact.
