Cats Protection quiz nights are back!
The first CP quiz of 2023 was held at the regular venue the Digby on Monday 20th March. And was won by a new team - Clueless – but the sixsome certainly proved they weren’t.
Clueless comprised Richard, Wendy, Andrew, Martin, Maureen and Hadleigh (pictured) – who won by just one half a point. Maureen, who ‘rustled up’ the winning team, commented ‘it was the best quiz she’d ever attended, and not just because they won’. “We’ll be back in July, and arrive early to enjoy a 5-star meal too.”
Runners-up were the Purrcolators who, sadly, lost by the same margin - half a point.
Best team name was chosen by Digby staff and was ‘may the paws be with you’.
Of course, the paws are always with Cats Protection – cats are ‘the reason the charity exists’ – so it was great to raise around £170 for the needy cats and kittens of North Birmingham.
Says coordinator Nicole: “It’s great to be back fund-raising again, and the Digby management and staff were so welcoming on the night – the sound system was superb. Big thanks to volunteers all – Jenny who made the first-prize hamper, Elaine who wrote the quiz questions, Adam our oh-so-long-serving compere – plus Sue, Kathy, Jane, Lorraine and Amanda. Troopers all!”
