Teddy runs to raise funds for cats

Father and son take on the ‘Miles for Moggies’ challenge - and raise £505 for felines …

Wylde Green family man Peter Shergold, who happens to be CPs Head of Field Operations, took part in this year’s Sutton Fun run – egged on and accompanied by his 9-year old son Teddy.

Says Peter: “Teddy organised the fundraising himself and was determined to raise money for a cause close to his heart – mine too – cats of course!”

The purrfectly-matched pair ran the 8.5 mile annual event, along with 4,000 others, on Sunday 4th June, and raised a total of £505 for the North Birmingham branch of Cats Protection. Teddy, a pupil at Boldmere School, certainly gave Dad a ‘run for his money’ as he is a ‘keen athlete and fought in a team GB judo contest in Holland in May’.

Royal Sutton Fun Run organiser, Tracey Spare, confirmed that more than 4,000 were signed up to take part this year, almost double last year’s total – but he’d still like to see more.

Looks like Peter and Teddy swelled the numbers by 2! And most of those who participate do so for good causes - local and national – that are close to their hearts.

*Anyone who’d like to take on the ‘Miles for Moggies’ challenge can do so right up until December – see the link below for all the details.
