One of our main activities in our District is to find homes for cats in our care. We try to keep the adopt a cat list updated but sometimes we will have new arrivals, not yet on the website. Occasionally, we have available kittens and also cats suitable for farms. Every prospective new home will be subject to a home visit, enabling us to match the right cat to the right family.
If you are interested in homing one of our cats, you can discuss it with us and, if necessary, arrange a home visit at a time to suit you by telephoning Stranraer and District Cats Protection on 0845 371 2759
(or e-mail us at catsprotection01@btconnect.com)
All cats leaving our care have been neutered, micro chipped, vet checked, brought up to date with their vaccinations, worming and flea treatments ready for their new home. We normally do the above in the first few days of the cat coming into our care, which costs us around £70. Except in certain circumstances, we ask for a £45 donation per cat to help towards these costs and to allow us to continue to offer the service of rehoming cats.
During 2011 the Stranraer District rehomed 56 cats and kittens.
