Winter is a time for comfort and warmth. For bundled up blankets, cosy evenings and time spent together.
While many of us are feeling the bite of the cost-of-living crisis this year, more owners than ever are no longer able to afford to care for their cats. That means our waiting list is longer than ever.
We want to make sure our centres and branches offer somewhere that feels like home for as long as our cats need it – and that’s why we’re asking for your help.
Whether you can give your time by pledging to volunteer as a fosterer or make a small donation towards food, blankets and care, it’ll go a long way to helping cats feel at home during this festive season and beyond.

Story
The cost-of-living crisis means more cats need a place that feels like home with many owners no longer able to afford to care for their pets or take in a cat from our care.
This means our waiting list is longer than ever, and many more cats are being abandoned. Cats like Hope.
Hope was brought to Cats Protection at five months old after she almost starved to death after eating 21 discarded hairbands. She was extremely poorly, and it was unclear whether Hope would survive.
Hope's story has a happy ending, but hundreds of other cats and kittens count on us to help give them the love and care they deserve.
