We are constantly in need of funds to feed the cats, provide equipment and litter, and pay the many vets bills. It costs approximately £5 per day to keep a cat in our care, and the average length of stay is about 6 weeks. Although we receive a small grant from the National Cat Centre, most of our funds are raised locally in a variety of ways. Here are some of them --do you think YOU could help?
Ways to Help the Cats Directly
Become a fosterer -We would give you training and supply the necessary equipment. You would be part of a group of fosterers.
Home visiting – We need people to visit potential homes before we rehome a cat or kitten.
Make follow-up visits where cats have been homed, to check that the cat is settled and that the new owners have no problems.
Help Trap Feral Cats – we do this for neutering, then return them to their feral colony. This keeps the feral population under control
Other Ways to Help Us
Help at fund-raising events locally - such as craft fairs, table top sales, bag packing at supermarkets
Organise a fundraising event on our behalf – could be anything: skydiving, swimming, sponsored walk, hair shave, silent auction
Come up with some bright ideas – even if you cannot organise an event, if you have a good idea, then tell us
