Name: Misty

Location: Mid Dorset

Misty is 4 years old, she is a stunning longhaired girl and we have just been contacted by a previous owner and told she is in fact a Turkish Van. She came into us when her owner died. She is gorgeous and loves a good fuss made of her but she has shown us that she is not a girl that likes to be picked up let alone held.
The lady that contacted us gave us a bit of information about her this is what she said: 'Misty liked to suck ear lobes so whoever takes her on will need to except that if she still does it as another lady tried to stop her but couldn’t. Your advert says 'no other cats' but Misty was always very good with our two cats: a neutered male moggy, and a neutered female Bengal. There were no issues at all with her and the cats and, in fact, she would seek them out to play with and groom. She was also fine with our Border Collie dog. The reason we rehomed her was due to her behaviour toward our younger children. She would get cross if one of them was too noisy and would sometimes bite their bottoms! With a baby due we chose to rehome her to a lady who had had experience with Turkish Vans, having owned one before, we had her from 5 months of age to when she was around 14 months old'.
She does get tangles in her coat and she had to have a number cut out by our vets. You will need to be proactive if her coat get matted again. We thought a home on her own with no other pets in it would be the best for her but maybe she could go with cats and dogs but who ever takes her on will need to have an understanding of the breed. She needs a garden to explore in a safe location. Poor Misty has already had 3 homes in 4 years, we need to make sure the 4th one lasts forever.
