Nominate your cat for the National Cat Awards

16 January 2019
Nominate your cat for the National Cat Awards We’re calling on all cat-owners to nominate your furry friend for the National Cat Awards. The awards have now been running for over ten years, and celebrate the difference that cats make to owner’s lives through stories of courage and companionship.

Entries open today, Tuesday 15 January – you have until noon on Friday 8 March to nominate their cat for one of five categories:

  • Hero cat – cats that save the day
  • Most Caring Cat – cats that positively impact a person’s health or wellbeing
  • Furr-ever friends – tales of friendship between children and cats
  • Outstanding Rescue Cat – fabulous felines adopted from animal charities
  • Purina® Better Together – celebrating the bond that has transformed and enriched the lives of both a feline and human

The awards are sponsored by PURINA®, with a panel of celeb cat-lovers given the tricky task of selecting winners. The winning cat’s owners will be presented with their trophies at a star-studded ceremony at London’s Savoy Hotel on Thursday 8 August.

Broadcaster and writer Andrew Collins will be one of the panel of celeb judges selecting the National Cat of the Year.
He says: “Cats make a house a home and whatever stage of life they join you, it improves everything. The National Cat Awards honour acts of bravery, empathy and loyalty. Humans are lucky to be chosen and adopted by cats of all ages.”
