Cat Adoptions
We’re continuing to rehome our cats virtually using hands free homing, however are now also offering visits in Bridgend Adoption Centre by appointment for potential adopters to view the cat they have been matched too.
We will not be able to admit public to the centre to view cats unless an appointment has been made beforehand.
The options we are having for homing are:
- Option 1 - Hand Free Homing.
This is a virtual process to adopt the cat you have been matched too. You won’t meet the cat in person, all information will be given, paperwork signed and payment taken via phone or email. Once you agree to adopt the cat matched to you, a reserve will be put on it for you and it will no longer be available for adoption.
- Option 2 - Hands Free but meeting the cat on collection from the centre.
The cat will be matched to you, all information given, and paperwork signed via phone and email. We will then arrange a collection appointment and you will meet the cat and at this time and payment taken. Once you agree to adopt the cat matched to you, a reserve will be put on it for you and it will no longer be available for adoption.
If you decide not to go ahead, the adoption will be cancelled and you will need to start the process from the beginning.
- Option 3 - Viewing appointment
Once you are matched to a cat we will arrange a viewing appointment at the centre. If you decide to go ahead with adoption, one of our cat carers will give you all relevant information about the cat and settling in advice. We will then arrange an adoption appointment with our receptionist and a collection appointment. If you decide on a viewing appointment, then you need to be available to view the cat within 48 hours of being matched to it and to be aware that the cat won’t be reserved to you and is available to others for adoption. We will do our very best to have a suitable cat at the centre for your viewing appointment but if we are unable to do this, we will regretfully need to cancel your appointment.
Shop, dropping off donations and cat care advice
You can call into the centre during our opening hours 11 am - 3 pm, Monday to Sunday, (closed all day Thursday) to purchase items from our shop, make/drop off a donation or for cat care advice. The door will be locked, but please ring the door bell and a member of the team will help you.
Please be aware you will not be able to view the cats in our care during your visit unless you have been matched to a cat and have a viewing appointment.
