Adopt a cat
Cats Protection Downpatrick Branch Adoption Procedure.
We want to help as many cats as possible by freeing up space in our centres for emergency cases, as well as helping some of our cats who have been with us longer to find a lovely new home. We're also keen to provide potential owners with their purrfect match.
Rest assured, we’ve put in extensive procedures to ensure carefully controlled rehoming without putting adoptees or our employees at risk of infection.
Hands-free rehoming procedure:
- Please see below photos of our lovely cats available for rehoming at present. If interested in a particular cat please contact us and we will have a chat with you to find out your situation and recommend if that particular cat will suit your needs. We will do our very best to interact with you and the cat virtually with Facetime, videos and photos to help with the selection.
- We will do our usual home checks virtually too, via Google Maps. When everyone is happy, the adoption fee can be transferred by bank transfer and the adoption papers sent electronically (or post) for you to sign and return. We will fix a date for you to take possession of your cat.
- You can now come to collect your cat from the branch enusring social distancing is maintained and use of PPE. We will discuss this with you before collection. Thank you for bearing with us and accommodating these restrictions.
Our adoption fee is £50 per cat/kitten and the carrier is £15 on top of this. (Total £65) If you are adopting 2 cats, the carrier will be sufficient to accommodate both.
All our cats/kittens are neutered (or come with a voucher), fully vaccinated, worm/flea treated, microchipped, FIV/FeLVtested, fully vet checked including dental and 4 weeks free PetPlan insurance.
Please remember that a CP cat is always a CP cat, and you cannot sell, give away or abandon him/ her.
