Calling all cat lovers!!!!
We are looking for more volunteers to help expand our work across Hornchurch, Upminster, Cranham and the immediate area (that’s RM1 - RM3, RM5 - RM14). This is an exciting but challenging time – would you like to be part of it?
At Cats Protection we welcome volunteers with open arms. Whether you are young or old, male or female, there's a place for you with us!
Why become a volunteer?
Volunteering is the most worthwhile thing you can ever do. It gives a real sense of achievement, allows the development of new skills and the social possibilities are endless!
You can us contact by email at firstname.lastname@example.org
Are you a ‘hands on’ cat person?
We are looking for fosterers, whether you have space in your garden for a pen or a spare room.
Cat caring is a vital role at our branch – the more fosterers we have, the more cats we can care for! And it is also one of the most rewarding roles. As fosterers you will be the surrogate mum or dad for cats on their way to loving and permanent new homes. You will have satisfaction of restoring a little cat’s faith in the world. And even though it is sometimes sad to say goodbye when a cat leaves for its new life, you know that you have given it a chance it wouldn’t otherwise have had.
We will pay all the costs of fostering and cat care, whether you want to be:
- An indoor fosterer and set aside a spare room (or two) for a rescued cat
- An emergency fosterer with a spare room that can be used for up to a few days but at short notice or
- An outdoor fosterer and have a specially designed outdoor cat pen erected in your garden.
Each individual cat pen is 10’ long and 3’3” wide. It has a heated sleeping pod and a run area so will need a concrete base and electricity supply. We will arrange and pay for all the work and supplies.
Do you have a car? There are always cats in need of transportation, to and from vets and to new homes. We are looking for welfare assistants to improve our current coverage of the area. And if you can get out and about in the area, perhaps a role as a homing officer would suit you, visiting potential new owners about taking on a feline companion.Publicity Co-Ordinator required
We are looking for some who can spare one or two hours a month to inform local radio and newspapers of our fund rasing activities; these could be national campaigns or our own events. Photographer
Can you spare some time about once a month to visit our fosterers and photgraph the cats in our care. It helps to have good images that we can use on our website, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter accounts.
