Support us

Our Adoption centre has been an important part of the Isle of Wight community since 1961.  For over 60 years, we’ve been caring for cats on the island, helping and homing on average 500 cats every year. Many are given in to us for adoption through no fault of their own. Others are abandoned and left to fend for themselves.  Without charities like ours to pick up these pieces, the future for these companion animals would be bleak indeed.

Learn more about about our Centre and how you can help

Throughout the year, we feature lots of news about our Centre and the cats in our care - and also ways in which you can help us such as volunteering and fostering.  Much of our news is featured on our Facebook pages, but also in our quarterly newsletter, Island Mews (the latest edition of which is featured here). The newsletter is completely free and you can subscribe to receive your very own email copy.   Simply scroll down to the bottom of this page for the sign-up form.

We couldn't do it without you!

We really appreciate every penny donated to us as it means we can care for more and more cats and kittens. There are so many ways in which you can help, and some of these, such as our Easy Fundraising (see below), won't cost you a penny, but make a huge difference to us and the cats in our care! If you'd like to help, please do read on. Thankyou!

Remember us in your will

Silver tabby kittenIt is thanks to the wonderful kindness of people who remember Cats Protection in their wills that we are able to carry out much of our day-to-day work. These special gifts fund more than half of everything we do and are vital to our work helping abandoned and unwanted cats and kittens.

You could help us care for even more cats by leaving us a gift in your will. We are incredibly grateful for every gift we receive, no matter what the size. Even the smallest gifts help us to provide cats with food, a warm bed, veterinary attention and most importantly of all, find them a loving home.

Would you like to remember the Isle of Wight Adoption Centre?

While many individuals who remember Cats Protection in their will leave their gift to the charity as a whole, we know that many supporters may wish to remember their specific adoption centre. Please specify this request when you speak to someone in our team. They will be happy to accomodate this request.

Cat Guardians cat guardian banner

If you are a cat owner you will naturally want to make sure that someone is there to look after the cat or cats you love should something happen to you. If this is something that concerns you, you may wish to consider registering with our Cat Guardians service. If you register to this service, and include a clause in your will about these arrangements, then we promise to care for your cat(s) in the event of your death and find them a loving new home. More information about this service, and how to register, can be found at
