What we do

Cats Protection is the largest feline welfare charity in the UK, and nationwide we rehome around 60,000 cats and kittens every year, as well as promoting responsible cat ownership.

The Mitcham Homing Centre houses around 20 cats and kittens who are looking for new homes. In an average year, our London centres will rehome over 750 cats, so we anticipate a steady stream of new furry faces through the centre.

If you are interested in adopting a cat in South London, click on the Adopt a cat tab at the top of this page. If a particular cat or kitten catches your eye, you can complete the contact form under the cat's details page, or just drop in during our opening hours to have a chat with our friendly staff. You don't need to book an appointment - just pop in and see us! We do however ask you to double check our website or give us a call before you set off to come in and see us. We are often very busy rehoming cats, so it may mean there may not be as many available for you to see

Please note that we do not have a vet on site and do not offer cattery services.

We are open 5 days a week, and details of our opening hours can be found on our homepage or here.
You can get the latest updates on all that's going on at the Mitcham Homing Centre, by checking out our Facebook page, and our Twitter and Instagram feeds. We post appeals and videos of our feline lodgers, interesting facts about the benefits of cat ownership, tips on caring for them, and plenty of cute cat photos. Please follow us and come and say hello!
