Adopt a cat
Welcoming a new cat into your home can be an exciting time. It is a commitment, but we are here to help you make the right choice for you and the cat.
Once you feel ready for the responsibility and are ready to adopt within seven days, it's time to take the next step. Simply visit the National Cat Adoption Centre and meet the cats looking for new homes (no appointment is necessary).
Before you can take a cat home, we will ask some simple questions to ensure that your cat fits your circumstances.
As part of this important process to safeguard cats in our care, you will complete a Homefinder Questionnaire and provide proof of your address and ID.
We would then do a Googlemap check on your property to assess the area and paired with the information given on your home, we would advise you on the type of cat we feel would be best suited.
If you find a cat you would like to adopt, we can place a maximum of a seven day reserve on the cat. From the point of reservation there is generally a 48 hour holding period which enables us to get the cat ready for homing and allows you to get your home ready for the cat.
Depending on where you live and the type of cat you’re adopting we would either do a homing interview at the centre (ideally at point of reservation) or a home visit.
Once the above has been done you can come and collect the cat and do the paperwork. Given that our cat care costs can be in excess of £150 per cat, we have an adoption fee of £80 per cat which goes towards our costs, any additional donation is greatly appreciated.
All of our cats are:
• Vet health-checked
• Neutered (if old enough)
• De-flead and wormed
• Come with 4 weeks free PetPlan
Please note: Our website updates on a 24 hour cycle, so please bear with us if some cats are already reserved. Don't worry though, we have plenty more cats looking for a home
