Rehoming Success Story: Mary - Apr 2024

Mary was in the care of North Herts Cats Protection in 2024 and we homed her to her forever loving home. Her adopter has contacted us with an update:

We love Mary. She has settled down now and is establishing routine. She is trusting us more and more and her personality beginning to show through. She is a very sweet cat who loves our company - as we love hers. She sits next to us on the sofa and follows us from room to room. She has her favourite places to sit and will often sit somewhere where she can see both of us. She sleeps on the bed and gets us up in the morning. We have negotiated a compromise on the time we all get up! She often brings a toy bird to us at night and brings this with her from room to room.

She’s always pleased to see us when we get back from being out. And greets us with meows. I normally work from home and Mary likes to ‘helps’ me out. She loves to sit on my desk chair with me and if I get up from the chair, I normally loose it to her and end up perched on the end. When Ann-Marie gets back from work, Mary greets her with delight.

She is very playful and has periods where she loves to play with various toys. However, we have found out that she loves to play with stones. She found some stones accidentally brought in stuck in shoes and was playing with them. Now, sometimes we pick and bring her back a stone to play with. She stalks and pounces on the stone and then bats it around chasing it.

She is very inquisitive too and loves to investigate everything. Anything new needs to be investigated as well as anything we are up to - she will join in.

Otherwise she likes to sit and look out the window from various points. She loves a fuss under her chin and on her head.

We are very happy with Mary and believe that she is happy too.
