Support us

If you love cats and would like to support our branch we would love to hear from you. Here are the ways you can help:

Become a member of the branch
You will receive our newsletter "Feline Features" every quarter, containing articles and stories about some of the cats we’ve homed, and packed with news, information and photos of all things feline, for the price of £5 per year

Join the cat lottery and support our branch
It only costs £4.34 per month to play. Every penny will help our branch to look after the cats and kittens in our care. Players have a chance of winning one of 100 prizes, including a weekly jackpot of £1,000 and Super Draws up to a £10,000 jackpot. This is a fun way of helping to raise funds for Cats & Kittens. When signing up please remember to select 'I would like my payments to go towards the cats and kittens at a branch or adoption centre of my choice' and choose to support 'South Wirral Branch' as this will ensure 100% of your lottery fee will go directly to support our branch.

Become a cat sponsor
So many cats arrive at our branch hungry, homeless and alone. Sponsoring a cat pen is one of the best ways you can help, providing them with shelter, food, warmth, medical care and the love they need.

It's easy to become a cat pen sponsor, right now, for as little as 19p a day. Sponsorship also makes a lovely gift for a fellow cat lover in your life.
To get started, just choose the cat and the pen you would like to sponsor here:  Become a cat sponsor
South Wirral Branch will receive 100% of your sponsorship.

To start off your journey as a Cats Protection Sponsor, you will receive a fantastic welcome pack including a personalised certificate, your first photo introducing you to the lovely cat you are helping to care for in your pen, a photo album to collect pictures of all the cats you help and a window sticker.

That's not all, throughout your time as a sponsor we will keep you updated with regular newsletters and photos of the cat in your pen and will update you by email with photos, videos, stories and sponsorship news. You can even access the sponsor area on our website where you can find more information on the cats you are helping, including videos and photos of your current sponsor cat.

Thank you

Giveacar
Giveacar is the UK’s first charity car donation service. They aim to give you a simple, efficient and friendly way to turn an old banger into a good deed for charity. Cats Protection has been partnered with Giveacar from the beginning of the year and is impressed with their professionalism and excellent customer service. Cats Protection has already raised a significant amount which will help us to continue our work in rehoming, neutering and education.

If you would like to donate a car to support your local Cats Protection Branch please click here

*Please inform Giveacar if you would like the funds raised to go to South Wiiral Branch*

Adopt a cat or kitten
Visit our Adopt A Cat page to find out more about our adoption process. But be warned, the irrepressible urge of cat adoption lies ahead! By adopting one of our cats not only are you giving a cat a new start in life but also making space for us to help another

Make a donation
Making a donation may be your way to help us. A donation no matter how small will help us be confident that our day to day costs can be met. Donations go directly to help the cats and kittens in our care, paying for things such as veterinary care and food.

Donate goods
Any donation of unwanted gifts for forthcoming tombola prizes are very welcome. If anyone has good quality bric-a-brac/items we can sell on E-Bay to let us know. We will be able to arrange collection

Come along to one of our fundraising events
Dropping in to one of the fund raising activities we hold close to you is a very good way of helping us out. See our Events page for any forthcoming events. Perhaps you organise events where the branch can have a presence?

Raise funds for the branch yourself
Have one of our collection boxes in your workplace or even at home. Or, if you are making plans to run a great distance, or jump from a cliff with only a rope attached to your ankles, think about getting sponsored to raise funds for the branch and set up a Justgiving page. Contact us to us to find out how to do this. Also visit our main website to find out just how many fundraising event there are that you can take part in

Become a branch volunteer
Volunteering opportunities are wide and varied. Have you some time that you would like to spend doing work for your local branch, wether it is for a few hours a month or a weekly commitment? There are many roles available including hands on cat work, administrative roles, fundraising, cat trapping, home visiting or fostering - we are always in need of more helpers! Find out more on the Volunteering pages

Become a fosterer
Can you offer a homeless cat temporary accommodation? Our fosterers take on the care of cats and kittens until a new loving home can be found for them. Read our article about fostering for the branch

OTHER THINGS YOU CAN DO TO HELP

  • Support us on Facebook. The more friends the wider the reach!
  • One of the most important things you can do is to have your pet neutered and encourage family and friends to do likewise
  • Be aware of cats in your neighbourhood so you can identify and report a stray. If you come across a cat that is in trouble take direct action to help it, or call us for advice
  • Also check out the "Lost & Found" section in case your 'found' cat has been reported to us as lost. Also keep your eyes out for any cats matching the descriptions on this page
  • Microchip your cat. This makes it easier to reunite any lost cat with their owner and could save a lot of heartache if your cat does ever go missing
  • Become an Animal Advocate for Cats Protection. Click here to find out more
  • You can help us simply by doing your shopping. If you shop online, you can purchase from a large number of retailers and raise funds for the branch at the same time
  • Finally, EDUCATE. Teach the children to love animals and treat them with kindness. Teach them about neutering, about commitment and the cost of keeping animals on a day to day basis
