What we do

Cats are at the heart of everything we do. Whether it's finding them loving new homes, promoting the benefits of neutering or educating about responsible cat care – we work tirelessly to provide them with better and brighter futures.

Last year Stroud Cat Protection rehomed in excess of 250 cats and kittens. From finding them new homes to reuniting lost cats with their owners; providing financial assistance towards neutering to spreading the important message of cat welfare, we embrace our role as the UK's leading feline welfare charity.

Cats come into our care for a variety of reasons; some are strays that have been abandoned while others are surrendered into our care by their owners.

Every cat in our care has been vaccinated against flu, enteritis and also leukaemia. It will have been treated against fleas, roundworm and tapeworm, and will have been micro chipped. If the cat has not already been neutered we will neuter it before it goes to its new home. In the case of kittens, a voucher will be given for neutering at the appropriate age. We are rightly proud of our stance that we never put a healthy cat to sleep as we truly believe that there is the right home for every cat in our care, no matter how long it takes. We then offer ongoing support, information and advice as the cat arrives and settles into its new home.

We'll continue to do our utmost to create a better world for cats. We're determined to achieve our vision of a world where every cat is treated with kindness and an understanding of its needs.
