Events Organiser

The charity as a whole are able to help thousands of cats each year thanks to the presence we have within the community, which relies on our attendance at events. Our events organiser will have the exciting and varied role of helping plan and deliver local events! These may be educational in nature, or may be more fun in nature like pub quizzes!

A bit about the role
We are seeking to recruit a 'lead' events organiser volunteer, before recruiting a few volunteers to support this lead organiser volunteer. These could be arranging the set up of stalls and attending local events, or larger fundraising activities such as quizzes and fun days! Our events can be as varied as your imagination - we would love someone with a passion for cats, ready to help our North Antrim and Glens branch get the word out there and raise some much needed funds to support our local cats and kittens in need. This volunteer would ideally be someone happy to arrange a few events a year at least, and while experience is great it is not essential!

What does this role involve?

  • Actively researching and seeking out oppurtunities to attend/host events in our BT41-BT44 or BT51-57 areas, ideally a few a year (though of course not limited!)
  • Making enquiries with external organisations to arrange these events e.g. venues, local businesses...
  • Attending and helping to run these events, when you can
  • Working alongside and directing events volunteers, to ensure events go smoothly
  • Engaging with different teams within Cats Protection to make the best of our events when appropriate e.g. Fundraising, Media, Social Media team...
  • Working within a certain budget for any larger events, to ensure fundraising events are as productive as possible
  • Helping us to become known in the local community - engaging with locals and our supporters.
  • IT and interpersonal skills are ideal, but you will receive full training and support so not essential. This particular role is being considered a lead role, so we would appreciate those who are happy to become actively involved in our branch alongside our other volunteers, and who would be happy to co-ordinate these volunteers on event days.
