Welcome to Cats Protection West Midlands Cat Centre
CLOSURE UPDATE 17/09/2025
We are temporarily closed to the public, as well as for admissions and rehoming, while we deal with a confirmed case of Feline Parvovirus on site. This is routine in
these circumstances and we have robust infection control and management protocols in place. Sadly, Birmingham and the wider Midlands area has recently seen several cases of the virus and the team is working hard to quarantine and care for the cats at the centre to ensure there are no further cases. We would like to thank our supporters for their concern and understanding; we look forward to welcoming them back to the centre soon.”
Feline Parvovirus is a highly contagious disease that has a high mortality rate. Symptoms include vomiting, diarrhoea, lethargy, high fever and a loss of appetite. Outbreaks can happen in households with unvaccinated cats, in multi-cat situations - such as breeders and catteries - and in colonies of stray cats. Cats Protection urges all owners to neuter and vaccinate their cats.
