Adopt a cat

Nationally, Cats Protection rehomes around 60,000 cats and kittens every year. Here in our corner of the world we are always seeking loving new homes for the cats and kittens in our care.

We’re passionate about finding loving, lasting homes for the cats in our care.

During the process of adopting a cat from Bristol & District Cats Protection, we’ll consider everything from your potential pet’s personality and how this fits with your lifestyle, to your home environment – creating the perfect match for both cat and owner and the start of a wonderful feline friendship.

We’re continuing to rehome our cats virtually, however, we are able to arrange moggy-matching meetings.

You can find out more about rehoming and why to adopt from Cats Protection here.

Just to let you all know, we will be closed for Christmas from 19 December until 2 November.

All cats homed by us are health checked, vaccinated, chipped and neutered if over 5 months old and come with 4 weeks free Pet Plan insurance.

All kittens homed by us are health checked, vaccinated and will be chipped and neutered by us at 5 months old and come with 4 weeks free Pet Plan insurance.

Cats Protection asks adopters for a fee when rehoming, it's £80 for a cat (over 6 months) and £100 for a kitten. If you feel able to make a donation on top of the fee that would, of course, be gratefully received. We know times are hard so thank you for your decision to rehome a Cats Protection cat! All monies go directly back to helping cats and kittens in the Bristol and District area.

Our main kitten season usually starts around April/May time, although there may be some available at other times. If you require a kitten, please contact us in April.

It is always easier for us to find new homes for kittens rather than older cats – but an older cat can be equally rewarding as a member of your family.

We do not set any upper age limit on cats for rehoming, believing that there is always, somewhere out there, the right home for the right cat.
