Adopt a cat

Coventry branch is now taking part in Hands Free Homing.

Head Office have issued strict guidelines to protect both us as volunteers and the general public whilst allowing us to rehome cats to the forever homes they deserve. All of the relevant information has been given to the Homing team led by Jodie and the Welfare team led by Helen and the branch Co-Ordinator will be given any updated information by Head Office as it becomes available.
The process will be different to how we normally work but is fairly simple.

  • Potential adopters will be contacted in the normal way by telephone and a "home visit" will either be done virtually over video link or again by telephone.
  • Once we have all of your details they will be passed to "cat matcher" Hannah or "kitten matcher" Rachel who will assess which cat or kittens may be suitable and contact you to discuss and at this point can provide photos and videos for you to meet the cat virtually.
  • Once the adoption has been arranged the adoption paperwork will be delivered either electronically or by post for you to read through and sign.
  • The adoption fee is to be made online direct to our bank account or by PayPal wherever possible.
  • Then we will arrange for one of our cat adoption drivers to bring your new addition to you. All drivers have completed the necessary online PPE and health and safety courses recently produced by CP for the present situation.
  • Then following the adoption you will be contacted after a few days to make sure all is well and to help and advise you on anything you should need. We will also do the same a week or so after.

I hope this explains the process and anyone who is on our waiting list to adopt will be contacted in due course but please do feel free to contact us on 76594116 or email homing@coventry.cats.org.uk. Thank you so much for your patience during this very difficult time.

People can be proud to take on very deserving rescued cats and kittens which have been vet checked, snap tested for FIV/FeLV, microchipped, vaccinated (at least 1st vac depending on the amount of time the cat has been in care) and neutered (kittens under 4 months will be guaranteed a neutering voucher).
