Lost and Found

If you have LOST or FOUND a cat and live in our area, it’s important to let us know as soon as possible in order to have a better chance of reuniting cats with their owners. You can do this by phoning our Catline on 01332 206956, by email lostandfound@derbybranch.cats.org.uk or use the Contact us form.

Wherever possible, always try to thoroughly search your house, outbuildings and gardens for missing cats. Also ask around your neighbours before reporting a cat as lost or found. You may find the following information helpful.

We also have a Facebook page dedicated to lost & found cats in the Derby & surrounding area. If you are a Facebook user please like our page and feel free to post information on lost or found cats to this page. Click here to go directly to the page.

What you can do if you find a cat       What you can do if your cat is missing

When notifying us, please make sure you include as many of the following details as you are able:

Whether the cat you are reporting is LOST or FOUND
Your name, address, postcode, contact telephone numbers and email address
The date the cat was lost/found, and where, if not home address
As full a description of the cat as possible: sex, age, name, colour, hair length, breed (if pedigree), and any particular distinguishing features
Whether spayed/neutered, microchipped or not, wearing a collar or ID
A recent good clear photograph attachment, preferably in jpg format.

The more information you are able to provide, the better the chance of someone recognising the cat online. It is also important that you let us know as soon as possible if the case is resolved so the details can be removed.

There are several nationwide websites which have details of pets that have been lost or found by members of the public throughout the country. This could be particularly useful if you think your pet may have got into a van or removal lorry and been transported outside the Derbyshire area: Animal Search UK, UK National Pet Register, Gumtree, Pets Located, Catchat.org, Petlog. There are also many local community websites and Facebook pages which you can find through your web browser.

The cases listed below are for cats reported to us during the last six months. If you think one of these may be yours, please contact us on 01332 206956 or lostandfound@derbybranch.cats.org.uk
