The Adoption Process
When you arrive at the Adoption Centre for the first time, we will ask you to fill in a questionnaire which will let us know a little bit more about yourself and your family. If you live in rented accommodation we will ask to see a tenancy agreement/letter from your landlord confirming you are allowed to keep a cat/kitten at the premises and this would need to be presented before you can take your new companion home.
You are then welcome to have a look around the Adoption Centre & using your answers to the questionnaire we can hopefully find the perfect match for your family.
We do try to advise a 24 hour cooling off period after reservation, (please note cats and kittens cannot be reserved unless you have been along to see them.) it allows you to have your home ready for your new arrival and it also allows us time to prepare the paperwork. We may arrange a home visit too, although this is not always necessary.
Please bring reading glasses if needed.
Please bring a form of identification with you when you collect your chosen companion, otherwise we may not be able to home to you, this can be in the form of a driving licence, recent utility bill or similar.
Please note due to high demand for our services, we ask that any cats/kittens are collected within 7 days of reservation, this allows us to offer space to the many other cats waiting to come into our care.
All of our cats/kittens are neutered, fully vaccinated or awaiting a 2nd vaccination depending how long they have been with us, microchipped, vet checked, 4 weeks free Pet Plan insurance, wormed and de-flead. Bearing in mind the treatment all cats/kittens have received the Adoption Centre asks adopters for a fee, the fee for our cats are: £64 for an adult and the same for a kitten If you feel able to make a donation on top of the fee that would, of course, be gratefully received. We know times are hard so thank you for your decision to rehome a CP cat!
Appointments are not necessary for visiting, you can just turn up during our opening hours which are 11am - 4pm daily inc weekends. If you would like us to help you with rehoming your cat please see our 'Your cat in our care' page or call us on 01362 687919.
