DELIGHTED Doncaster cat owner Valerie Johnson today told of her relief after her missing moggy came home – after 14 months.

Beauty the cat survived torrential floods and life on the streets of Doncaster for more than a year before she was finally returned to Valerie thanks to a microchip.

Valerie, aged 74, of Blossom Avenue, Askern, feared the worst when the three-year-old silver tabby went missing.

But lucky Beauty has now been reunited with her owner after a concerned Kirk Sandall resident Betty Stevenson contacted Cats Protection’s Doncaster Branch to report the cat as a stray.

Cats Protection volunteer Ruth Clark said: “A lady in Kirk Sandall had first seen Beauty after the floods, looking very bedraggled and wet. She cleaned her up a bit and, presuming she was a stray, fed her over the summer.

“But with winter coming she became concerned for her welfare and contacted us. I went and collected her and took her to the vet for a check-up. A quick scan by the vet reveale
