Adopt a cat

Cats Protection Downpatrick Branch Adoption Procedure.

We want to help as many cats as possible by freeing up space in our centres for emergency cases, as well as helping some of our cats who have been with us longer to find a lovely new home. We're also keen to provide potential owners with their purrfect match.

Cat in our Care

We love introducing cat in our care to prospective cat owners! 🐱 As a team of volunteers this means our cats are being cared for by fosterers in their own home so please be aware of our processes when enquiring about a cat: We may ask a few questions to understand your home environment. Every cat has their own unique needs and personalities and we want to ensure the best fit for you and our cats. You may be then invited to come and see one of our cats which are cared for in our volunteers homes. Because of this we ask everyone attending to be respectful and take care in our volunteers homes. This includes any family members that may join you.

Should you still wish to adopt, there will be some paperwork (don’t worry, it’s painless!) and a collection of our adoption fees, where you will be provided with four weeks free pet insurance and medical history upon taking your cat home. Once your new feline friend is settling in, we are here to offer continued advice and support for any concerns you may have 😊

Our adoption fee is £75 per cat and £95 per kitten, which includes a cat carrier.

All our cats/kittens are neutered (or come with a voucher), fully vaccinated, worm/flea treated, microchipped, FIV/FeLVtested, fully vet checked including dental and 4 weeks free PetPlan insurance.

Please remember that a CP cat is always a CP cat, and you cannot sell, give away or abandon him/ her.
