Take your adventure to new heights

Join our team and take part in our climb for cats at Cavehill,  raising money for cats and kittens.

Starting our hike in the dark, a team of experts will lead us on a one hour climb to the top of Cavehill, in time to get out our flasks of tea and coffee, watch the sunrise and toast to our furry friends.

Cavehill is arguably one of the best sights to take in a sunrise across Belfast. Maybe we will be able to spot the Northern Ireland Cat Centre from the top?

How much do I need to raise?

There is a registration fee of £25 and we ask you to aim for a target of £100 sponsorship commitment to help make better lives for cats.

The money you raise will help us to be there for all cats. You make our work possible.

How much experience do I need?

We will be with you every step of the way, from sign-up to sunrise! In the lead up to the climb, we will provide full support and ideas to help you exceed your fundraising commitment. 

During the climb, we’ll be led by mountaineering experts who will guide our group safely up and down Cavehill. A moderate level of fitness is required, and you will need suitable walking boots, a raincoat and to be prepared for any Northern Irish weather.

Can I bring my pet dog?

Although we love all our furry friends, unfortunately this event is for humans only.

Why should I climb Cavehill with Cats Protection?

You’ll enjoy a great day out and achieve a personal challenge at the same time! What’s more, by raising £100, you could provide a microchip scanner, to check all new cats coming into our care, and reunite them with their owners.

How we’re helping cats at our Northern Ireland Cat Centre

Run by a passionate team of cat lovers, the Northern Ireland Cat Centre is dedicated to improving the lives of cats and kittens, working to find loving new homes for local cats in our care, offering support with neutering, and lost and found cats, as well as general education and awareness within Northern Ireland. Your support will help them continue this work.
