Adopt a cat
We aim to make the adoption process as simple and straight forward as possible. Although the centre has been designed to give our cats as much comfort as possible during their stay with us nothing compares to a warm loving home.
When you visit the centre you are free to view the cats in our homing wing and one of our cat care assistants will be on hand to offer assistance and information. You do not need to make an appointment to come to the centre during our opening hours.
It is really important to us that you rehome a cat best suited to eg, your location and lifestyle, so they happily remain with you for the rest of their lives. Once you have found the cat for you, it will be reserved for you, and proof of ID and address will be required. We will give you an 'Information Pack' with details about your chosen cat to take home and read such as current diet plus some advice leaflets.
If you are in rented accommodation, talking to your landlord ahead of time in order to obtain written permission to have a cat or cats ensures no delays or disappointment. For further advice for tenants (and landlords) please take a look at Cats Protection’s Purrfect Landlords Campaign https://www.cats.org.uk/what-we-do/campaigning/purrfectlandlords
On average we spend in excess of £150 for veterinary checks and treatments for each cat. To assist towards some of these costs we charge an adoption fee of £70.00 for a cat or kitten. If you would like to make a donation in addition to the adoption fee to help us continue the work we do, this would be very gratefully received! Simply advise us at the time of adoption, and remember we may also be able to claim GiftAid on the donation amount received. Every penny really does make a difference.
If you would like further information, please do not hesitate to contact the centre on 03000 120 175.
PLEASE NOTE SOME OF THE CATS SHOWN MAY ALREADY BE RESERVED FOR ADOPTION SO IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN A PARTICULAR CAT PLEASE CONTACT THE CENTRE TO CHECK AVAILABILITY IN ADVANCE.
Some of the cats in our care may not yet be on our website. If you are looking for a feline companion, please contact us on 03000 120 175
