What we do

We are the Frome branch of Cats Protection and we are one of a network of local volunteer branches and adoption centres that make up part of the national Cats Protection.

Cats Protection's vision is to ensure that every cat is given the chance of a life where it will be treated with kindness and an understanding of its needs.

Cats Protection’s three main objectives are:-

  • To find good homes for cats in need
  • To support and encourage the neutering of cats
  • To improve people’s understanding of cats and their care
We never put a healthy cat to sleep and aim to find a loving home for every cat in our care.

We rehome pets, that due to an owner's ill health or change of circumstances means they are no longer able to look after them. Stray cats and kittens are rescued either because they are no longer wanted or have been left behind when their owners move house. We keep these cats in care until a suitable new home is found and keep in touch to ensure that they settle in.

Apart from a small grant, our branch is completely self-funding and we are only able to do what we do with the dedication of a small team of fosterers & fundraisers.

Our fundraisers are always looking for new ways to raise money and encourage donations and the number of animals we are able to help is only dependent on how much money we are able to raise.

Our fosterers work tirelessly, 365 days a year looking after over 150 cats & kittens that come into our care.

If you live in Frome, Warminster, Trowbridge, Westbury and surrounding areas and would like to become a member, adopt a cat or have some time to spare, please get in touch we would love to hear from you.
