We encourage neutering to be done as early as possible. This is to control the feline population by reducing unwanted litters as well as to prevent fighting, straying, infections such as FIV (feline immunodeficiency virus) and cancers.

The standard age to neuter domestic, owned cats is four months old.

CP cats may be neutered after their first vaccination, if applicable.

Feral cats are neutered at 3 months of age to reduce unwanted feral litters.

Cats Protection does offer financial support for those who are in receipt of benefits, state pension, a low household income or full time students for neutering.
