WHO NEEDS YOGA TO RELAX WHEN YOU HAVE A CAT!
It is a well known fact that there are health benefts if you own a pet.
Obviously, if you own a dog, you have to walk it - therefore both of you getting exercise which is beneficial for you heart ( and weight). It can also be a sociable thing, other people with dogs tend to talk to you and you can end up with unexpected friends. It is probably great fun for the kids aswell. So a good way to keep all the family happy.
Having a cat (I won't say owning - do we ever own a cat?) is quite different but just as rewarding.
Just watching a cat washing for ten minutes can be the most relaxing part of the day. They don't hurry, they like to take their time. They are meticulous about their ears and paws and most cats will either purr or make some sort of "mmm yum" noises at the same time.
It is a part of the day when you don't have to think about anything. Just let your mind concentrate on that cat and you will find the cares of the day will just drift away. Your blood pressure will go down and you will feel great - that is until they stop washing and meow for food or scratch the sofa! But that is another story..........
