Welcome to Cats Protection Hereford Adoption Centre. Please have a look around our site and we look forward to meeting you soon.

In selected Cats Protection centres, during the lockdown restrictions surrounding the coronavirus (COVID-19), we are trialling a new hands-free homing approach for some of our cats. Hereford Adoption Centre is part of this pilot and we are delighted to announce we are commencing with Hands Free Homing.

With guidance from the Government and DEFRA we can ensure that we can continue to help as many cats as possible at this time by matching them with their perfect family and freeing up more space in our centres to help cats in the Hereford and surrounding area.

If you’re interested in adopting a cat from us please Click here to find out about the homing process before applying to adopt a cat.  All cat adoption applications must be made via the contact form on the cat you are interested in adoption.

Please note: We have in place extensive procedures that are enabling carefully controlled rehoming without putting people at risk of infection, and without a negative impact on cat welfare. Therefore, we cannot guarantee that you will be able to adopt a cat at this time but we will be ensuring that all our cats are matched with potential owners who are able to provide the environment and lifestyle required by each cat’s individual needs.

Hereford Adoption Centre was opened in 2003, and is the charity’s only purpose built centre in Herefordshire. Since opening our doors we have helped thousands of cats & kittens in the county, from hand rearing orphaned kittens to nursing sick cats back to health, neutering and reuniting lost cats with their owners.
The centre has 40 pens, providing comfortable accommodation for the cats in our care. Cats Protection is a national charity, we don't receive any government funding or grants, we rely entirely on donations which we receive from members of the public. We are always extremely grateful for any donation that we receive, whether big or small it all helps.

If you would like to donate £5 by text please text HERE to 70577, terms and conditions can be found here

If you require assistance with the cost of neutering your cat please ring 03000 12 12 12 to find out more information, we may be able to help.

Our vision is to ensure that every cat is given the chance of a life where it will be treated with kindness and an understanding of its needs. Cats Protection has simple and clear objectives to help cats:

  • HOMING - To find suitable loving homes for cats in need
  • NEUTERING - Supporting and encouraging the neutering of cats
  • EDUCATION - Improving people’s understanding of cats and their care

Hereford Adoption Centre is under more pressure to keep up with the demands of the ever increasing numbers of cats needing our help, but with your support we hope to continue find new homes for more cats & kittens throughout Herefordshire and the surrounding counties.
