Cat adoption in Launceston & District
Our Branch will be closed from 23rd December 2025 until 5th January 2026 to allow all of our volunteers to have a well earned rest. Of course many will continue in their roles to care for the cats in our care over this period, but enquiries, visits and adoptions will resume on 5th January.
Thank you all for your support this year and we wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

** As we are now approaching the busy Christmas period, we are happy to arrange for you to come and meet and reserve any of our cats. However, if you are planning a busy Christmas with lots of visitors or gatherings, we suggest that the adoption takes place once your home returns to normal so that your new cat can settle in more easily **
Could you provide a loving new home for a cat in Launceston or the surrounding area? During the process of adopting a cat from us, we’ll consider everything from your potential pet’s personality and how this fits with your lifestyle, to your home environment – creating the perfect match for both cat and owner and the start of a wonderful feline friendship.
Every cat or kitten adopted from Cats Protection is:
- Given a nose to tail full health check
- Flea and worm treated
- Vaccinated
- Blood tested if necessary
- Microchipped
- Neutered, if not already done, or if a young kitten, in which case a free voucher will be supplied for later neutering
- Insured for four weeks
As our veterinary and care costs average £150 for each cat, we charge an adoption fee of £105 for a kitten up to 6 months old, and £85 for a cat.
Please note that if you are in rented accommodation we require written confirmation from your landlord or housing association giving permission for you to keep a cat at the property. It must also state how many animals are allowed at the property.
