Thank you to everyone who donated to Mary’s retirement fund. As you will see we were able to get some fantastic gifts for her. We were lucky to choose, what seems to have been, the last sunny Sunday to surprise Mary! Sadly, due to the covid 19 restrictions, we were not able to have a big presentation so instead myself and Sue Mann, our Welfare Officer made the presentation. However, there were many other people on the committee and in our wider volunteer group who helped with sourcing and engraving so thank you to you too!
Here are a few photos so you can see what Mary received. The statue of a cat (of course) was given by Cats Protection but the bench, the cat made from horseshoes and the garden centre vouchers were gifts from you all.
Below is a letter from Mary.
A huge thank you to everyone who donated towards the fantastic retirement presents that I received from the Launceston & District branch of Cats Protection. The bench is sitting beautifully in the garden. The other items have made it indoors!
It was a wonderful surprise, completely unnecessary, but very much appreciated. I miss everyone: I actively ran the branch for a long time and it has been a huge chunk of my life.
I am grateful to all the volunteers who have taken on the roles of running Launceston & District branch, and trust that the branch will continue for many years. Good luck for the future.
Every Good Wish, Mary
