Cat adoption in Aberdeen

Could you provide a loving new home for a cat in Aberdeen? During the process of adopting a cat from us, we will consider everything from your potential pet’s personality and how this fits with your lifestyle, to your home environment – creating the perfect match for both cat and owner and the start of a wonderful feline friendship.

Our cats currently looking for homes are listed below. To express interest in a particular cat, please enquire via their individual listing.

Adoptions include a home visit (in person or by video call). Paperwork and proof of address are completed by email. Once approved and matched, the adoption fee - £100 per cat / £120 per kitten - is paid in advance by bank transfer.

All Cats Protection cats are health checked, neutered/spayed, microchipped, worm and flea treated, and given their first vaccination (the second vaccination, 3–4 weeks later, is included in the fee). Each cat is also assessed for personality before being rehomed.

For general enquiries about adoption or suitability, please call 0759 400 7139 or email enquiries@aberdeen.cats.org.uk.

Cat Admissions / Enquire about having your cat taken into care

** 11 NOVEMBER 2025 **
Please note, we are receiving many enquiries from owners wishing to place their cats in care. We are managing the best we can with the spaces we have available, and are reliant on cats being adopted to free-up space. We have a long waiting list in place and will endeavour to admit cats into care, as and when a space and veterinary appointments become available.

** 01 November 2025 - Any cats not already on our waiting list, will be looking at admission dates from January 2026 onwards.

Please be patient, considerate and polite when interacting with the Volunteers.
Thank you

Please read all below:
We understand things happen in life and personal circumstances change. These situations mean you find yourself making the very difficult decision to re-home your cat.  To help us find the best possible home and perfect match for your cat's needs, please provide us with as much information about your cat's personality, behaviour and health at the outset. This speeds-up the re-homing process for your cat and reduces the stress for them being held in care longer than is necessary.  Having lots of cute pictures and videos of your cat in your home setting looking relaxed, as well as a short story describing them for a potential new family also enables the re-homing process to move along quickly.

Please include: Your name, Address, Telephone contacts. Your Cat's Name, Veterinary Practice name, Is your cat Neutered/Spayed? Microchipped? Vaccinated and up-to-date? Flea/wormed last treatment date? Any pre-existing medical conditions?
