Welcome to Cats Protection Portsmouth Branch

We're here to support cats and kittens in Portsmouth, covering postcodes: PO1, PO11, PO2, PO3, PO4, PO5, PO6, PO9.

Run by a small team of dedicated, cat-loving volunteers, we're passionate about improving the lives of cats and kittens in Portsmouth and surrounding areas, working to find loving new homes for local cats in our care, and lost and found cats, as well as general education and awareness within the Portsmouth and surrounding areas. Cat adoption in Portsmouth

Could you provide a loving new home for a cat from our Portsmouth Branch? During the process of adopting a cat from us, we’ll consider everything from your potential pet’s personality and how this fits with your lifestyle, to your home environment – creating the perfect match for both cat and owner and the start of a wonderful feline friendship.

Please note the cats are fostered and  looked after at the fosterers own homes so not all cats are in the same area.

Please note our adoption fee is £100 for an adult cat and £110 for a kitten.

The cats will have been vet checked, vaccinated, microchipped and if necessary neutered. You will also get a months free insurance with Petplan.

If you live in rented accomodation we will require proof that your landlord allows you to have a pet.

Volunteer at Cats Protection Portsmouth Branch

Without volunteers, Portsmouth Branch simply wouldn't exist. Our amazing, friendly volunteers are a diverse group with a shared love of cats who fit volunteering around their home lives and personal commitments.

We're often looking to welcome new volunteers to join our brilliant team. As well as meeting great people and making an incredible difference to the cats of Portsmouth, you'll enjoy practical benefits such as discounted pet insurance. Lost and found cats in Portsmouth

Have you lost or found a cat in Portsmouth? We’re here to help you. To report a lost cat, or if you have found a cat in the Portsmouth area, please call us on 0345 371 2743 or email us on enquiries@portsmouth.cats.org.uk.

If you have lost your cat it is best to go and call at dawn and dusk. He or she may have been frightened and is more likely to come out of hiding as it gets dark or at first light.

Also if you have a litter tray sprinkle it around the garden and also empty your hoover bag, the idea is to get as much of their scent and yours our there to enable them to smell their way home.

Put their description and photo on as many medium platforms as possible it has proved a very effective way of reuniting cat with owner.

Never give up hope, cats have been found weeks and sometimes years after they have been lost.
