Lost Cat Information Sheet

It is always a traumatic time when a cherished pet goes missing. Many cats go missing every year. We are here to help. If your cat goes missing, please contact the following number and we will be there to help and advise you on what we can do to help at such a difficult time.

Cats go missing for a variety of reasons. Below are some of the reasons:

- Cats take a liking to the delivery van and settle in for a sleep, the delivery van drives off unaware.

- An un-neutered male cat wanders looking for a mate.

- Owner has moved house with their cat and the cat is not used to their new surroundings. In some cases the cat will wander back to where they have moved from!

A way to ensure that a missing cat can be found is to have your cat microchipped. The microchip is administered via an injection in the scruff and should last the cat a lifetime. This can be vital in cases of missing cats and can help to trace the cats owners in many lost cats. If you would like more information on this procedure, please phone 01775 725661.

Another reason cats can go missing is that they are not neutered. Un-neutered cats are likely to wander to find a mate and can disappear for many days at a time. A neutered cat is less likely to wander or spray to mark their territory in the house.
