Volunteering

CALLING ALL VOLUNTEERS!

We are always looking for volunteers for a variety of roles. If you can spare some time please contact us on suttoncats@hotmail.co.uk or call 07736 359678.

We are sorry we do not have the opportunity for hands-on cat volunteering unless it is in the capacity of a Cat Fosterer or helping us to scan and trap stray cats (if this interests you we provide full support and training) as all our cats are cared for in the homes of our Fosterers.

We are desperate for more Cat Fosterers in order to help more cats and kittens. If you would like to know more about becoming a Cat Fosterer please contact us.

Cat Fosterer
Cats Protection helps thousands of cats across the UK each year thanks to our network of dedicated volunteers. As a fosterer you will be directly helping cats and kittens in need; providing them with hands on care and working with others
to rehome them, ultimately, providing them with a second chance of a happy and healthy life.

Cat Fosterer Support
Could you help support the Fosterers by transporting cats to and from the vets and collecting stray cats and delivering them to the vets.  This would be on an ad hoc basis and you can decide how much time you are able to spare.

We are looking for volunteers who can help spread the word about our Branch by giving talks to local groups. We provide full support with training and materials.  If you are interested please call us.

Education Speaker

As an Education Speaker you will act as an ambassador for Cats Protection and play a key role in raising awareness of how the charity makes a big difference to the lives of thousands of cats and kittens in need each year. You will inspire others, develop learning and understanding of feline welfare and be the voice for cats in your community.

Branch team leader

The importance of volunteers to Cats Protection cannot be overestimated. We are only able to help thousands of cats and kittens each year due to the efforts of our passionate volunteers who willingly give up their time and expertise to help our feline friends in need.  Our branch team leaders support volunteer groups in regards to all aspects of their roles, making make sure our volunteers are happy, confident and supported in their roles.

Welfare Team Leader Volunteer

Without the passionate and committed teams volunteers across Cats Protection we wouldn’t be able to help the thousands of cats and kittens each year that rely on us for help. Our welfare team leaders have the important role of co-ordinating, encouraging and supporting teams of volunteer fosterers and cat care volunteers. They help make sure other volunteers with direct cat care roles are happy and confident and provide advice and guidance when needed. This incredible teamwork means we are able to help more cats and kittens in need.

Fundraising events organiser

As a charity we are able to help thousands of cats each year thanks to the generous donations we receive from members of the public. Our fundraising events organisers have the exciting and varied role of helping plan and deliver local fundraising events. They support a team of fundraising volunteers who come together to raise the vital funds needed to help our feline friends. Our fundraising events organisers use their passion for cats and people to plan cakes sales, barn dances, quiz nights – and everything in between!

Fosterer Volunteer

Across the UK many of our feline friends are cared for by volunteer fosterers who provide a stable, safe and loving environment in their homes or in purpose built pens in their gardens. They provide vital hands on care and accommodation to stray, abandoned cats or cats whose owners could sadly no longer keep them, and are part of a dedicated team of volunteers committed to finding new homes for cats in need. Most of our fosterers care for one or two cats at a time and enjoy providing lots of TLC to those cats which have been pre-loved or have had a difficult start in life. Some of our fosterers look after new mums and kittens and provide round the clock care to new-borns with tummies to fill and lots to learn. No matter what type of cats they have in care our fosterers provide the best start to the next stage of their lives.
