CALLING ALL VOLUNTEERS!
We are always looking for volunteers to join our small group for a variety of roles from Cat Welfare (including Fostering and Foster Support and scanning and trapping stray cats), Fundraising (events, emptying collection boxes and food bins), Publicity (advertising, social media, posters), Educational Talks to various groups and general collection of donated goods.
We are sorry we do not have the opportunity for hands-on cat volunteering unless it is in the capacity of a Cat Fosterer or trapping and scanning stray cats.
You don't have to have any experience, we provide training and offer full support. If you would like to try something new, have fun at the same time, meet new people and help cats please contact us to discuss on firstname.lastname@example.org
or 0345 260 2792
We currently need a handyperson to renovate our food collection bin at Morrisons Sutton. So if you are good at DIY/Woodwork and could spare a few hours to help us (we will cover cost of materials).Cat Fosterer
Have you thought about becoming a Cat Fosterer. We are always looking for more Cat Fosterers so that we can help more cats find their forever homes. All of the cats fostered have to remain indoors so if you live in a flat this is an ideal way of helping a cat and having some feline company. We pay all expenses and can assist with taking cats to and from the vet, if necessary so you do not have to drive. This role is felixible and can fit in with your lifestyle and holidays. We provide full training and support on cat care and cat welfare. Think about joining our team and helping the cats in the local area. Cat Fosterer Support
Are you recently retired with time on your hands? Can you drive and have a car? Could you help support the Fosterers by transporting cats to and from the vets and collecting stray cats and delivering them to the vets. This would be on an ad hoc basis and you can decide how much time you are able to spare. Expenses reimbursed so all it costs you is your time.
Across the UK, many cats are cared for by volunteer fosterers who provide a stable, safe and loving environment in their homes or in purpose-built pens in their gardens. They provide vital hands-on care and accommodation to stray or abandoned cats or cats whose owners could sadly no longer keep them, and are part of a dedicated team of volunteers committed to finding new homes for cats in need. Our fosterers carry out this role with support from their local branch or centre.
Most of our fosterers care for one or two cats at a time and enjoy providing lots of TLC to those cats, who have been pre-loved or have had a difficult start in life. Some of our fosterers look after new mums and kittens and provide round-the-clock care to newborns to give them the best start in life.

Cat Welfare Team Leader Volunteer
Without the passionate and committed teams of volunteers across Cats Protection we wouldn’t be able to help the thousands of cats and kittens each year that rely on us for help. Our Cat Welfare Team Leaders have the important role of coordinating, encouraging and supporting teams of fosterer volunteers and cat care volunteers. They help make sure volunteers with direct cat care roles are happy and confident and provide advice and guidance when needed. This incredible teamwork means we are able to help more cats and kittens in need.
