Welcome to Cats Protection Waltham Forest & Redbridge Branch

Cats Protection is the UK's leading feline welfare charity.  

Our vision is a world where every cat is treated with kindness and an understanding of its needs. 

The Waltham Forest branch is run by a small team of dedicated, cat-loving volunteers, passionate about improving the lives of felines in our local area. We cover a wide area of East London (postcodes: E4, E10, E11, E17, E18, IG8) and we aim to help as many felines as we possibly can. 

Sadly due to the current "Cat Crisis", we are unable to help every cat in need in our area, which is devastating for our volunteers - but we try our best and prioritise the most urgent & vulnerable. 

We work with other Cats Protection branches and adoption centres and independent rescues but we are all really struggling due to the extremely high numbers of abandoned & stray cats and also the huge number of owners wanting to give up their cats. 

We are a foster-based rescue and our cats are looked after by a small team of fosterers in their homes.  Sadly, we never have enough foster spaces available for the high number of cats in need and until one of our cats are adopted, we are unable to take other cats in to care. 

We are passionate about neutering and we are trying our best to educate our local community on the benefits of neutering both male and female cats as well as general cat care education and awareness. 

 

Cats Protection Waltham Forest has the following objectives to help our local cats:

Homing - Finding good homes for cats in our care

Neutering - Education, encouraging and supporting the neutering of domesticated and feral cats

Education & Information - Improving people's understanding of cats and their needs

Feral Cats - TNR (Trap, Neuter & Return) of local Feral Colonies to reduce numbers and improve their health and welfare and Education of the local community

Cat adoption in Waltham Forest & Redbridge

We always have lots of cats & kittens in our care looking for their furever homes. 

The UK is currently in the middle of a cat crisis and every rescue is full to bursting. By offering a loving new home to one of our cats, it will enable us to offer rescue space to other cats that urgently need our help. 

All our cats & kittens are health-checked, microchipped, neutered, vaccinated & treated for parasites.      We also provide 4 weeks free Petplan insurance from the date of adoption to give you peace of mind and ensure that there are no costly surprises when you first take your cat home. 

During the process of adopting a cat from us, we’ll consider everything from your potential pet’s personality and how this fits with your lifestyle, to your home environment – creating the perfect match for both cat and owner and the start of a wonderful feline friendship.

Once we receive your enquiry, one of our team will be in touch to explain the adoption process and arrange a home-check.  

Our dedicated team will support you throughout the adoption process and beyond and will be there for you if you need any advice in the future.

Without volunteers, Waltham Forest & Redbridge Branch simply wouldn't exist.

Our amazing team of volunteers are a friendly group with a shared love of cats who fit volunteering around their work and home lives and personal commitments.

We're always looking to welcome new volunteers to join our brilliant team. As well as meeting great people and making an incredible difference to the cats in our area, you'll enjoy practical benefits such as discounted pet insurance.

We are currently looking for additional fosterers and also drivers to help with transporting our cats to/from vet appointments and assisting with picking up/dropping off supplies.

Lost and found cats in Waltham Forest & Redbridge

If you have lost or found a cat in the area of Waltham Forest, we are here to help and support you. 

To report your missing cat, please email us with your full contact details and also your cats details including name, colour, any distinguishing markings, location missing from, circumstances.  Please email photos and also confirm if your cat is microchipped & neutered. 

To report a found cat, please email us with your full contact details and as much information as possible about the cat, including where the cat was found, colour, sex, approximate age, any health concerns or injuries.  Please email any photos of the cat.
