New volunteers needed at the Winchester Cats Protection Branch
We are always looking for reliable individuals to help us at our fundraising events throughout the year (majority of events are held in the summer). We are a really friendly, mixed group of people and hope that we will hear from you soon.
If you haven't got lots of spare time you can also help our fundraising efforts by donating good quality items that we can sell or use as prizes at our raffles. If you have anything you would like to donate, please get in touch with our coordinator on 01962 883536 or send your contact details to enquiries@winchester.cats.org.uk
In addition we always need help with the following:
Fundraising Events
Cakes, Jams, Marmalades and other produce to sell at our regular fundraising events
Donations of good quality bric-a brac, preferably (but not necessarily!) cat related to sell
Small gifts or items that we can use as Tombola prizes
Your TIME to helping out staffing the fundraising stalls at various events, local fetes, St Maurice's Covert in Winchester, even if you can only spend an hour or two it would help us a lot.
Driving the Branch Van to fundraising events, helping to set up and take down the stall.
If you have a car with a tow bar we have a small trailer that we would also like to use for transporting items to fundraising events.
Van Driving
We are also looking for people to drive the Branch Van and help with cat related duties such as vet trips, collecting cats and kittens to come into branch care and delivering cats to their new homes. We need people who can be extremely flexible during the day as we have to respond to all kinds of different events.
Cat Food
Cat food, cat litter, travelling baskets, washable bedding that we can re-use for the cats in our care.
Call Sue on 01962 883536 if you can help us with any of the above, thank you!
Volunteers do need to be over 18 years of age, due to insurance issues.
Fosterer volunteer
Across the UK, many cats are cared for by volunteer fosterers who provide a stable, safe and loving environment in their homes or in purpose-built pens in their gardens. They provide vital hands-on care and accommodation to stray or abandoned cats or cats whose owners could sadly no longer keep them, and are part of a dedicated team of volunteers committed to finding new homes for cats in need. Our fosterers carry out this role with support from their local branch or centre.
Most of our fosterers care for one or two cats at a time and enjoy providing lots of TLC to those cats, who have been pre-loved or have had a difficult start in life. Some of our fosterers look after new mums and kittens and provide round-the-clock care to newborns to give them the best start in life.
