Welcome to Cats Protection Worthing & District Branch
The Worthing and District Branch of Cats Protection came into being in 1986. Its main purpose is to rescue unwanted cats and kittens and find new loving homes for them. The area we cover stretches from the Arun river in the west to the Adur river in the east and north to Pulborough and Henfield. BN11, BN12, BN13, BN14, BN15, BN16, BN17, BN18, BN43, BN44, BN5, RH20.
Run by a small team of dedicated, cat-loving volunteers, we’re passionate about improving the lives of cats and kittens in Worthing, working to find loving new homes for local cats in our care, offering support with neutering, and lost and found cats, as well as general education and awareness within the Worthing area. Here at Cats protection Worthing, we were recently asked to take in an ultra flat-faced Persian cat called Bumble after her owner was unable to go on looking after her.
Bumble has an eye condition common in Persians called a corneal sequestrum. This means some of the tissue on the surface of her eye has died and formed a clump of dead tissue which often presents as a visible black circular area. This can be painful and cause the eye to become watery, red and inflamed.
