Due to ongoing COVID restrictions our centre remains closed to the public.
We are still able to complete all our normal services such as homing, admissions for rehoming and the receiving of donations however our processes run slightly differently to usual.
Homing - We are now running a hands free homing process, the cats that are available for adoption can be seen on our adopt a cat page: www.cats.org.uk/axhayes/adopt-a-cat
Applications for cats must be received via the website.
Please note: all paperwork is completed via email and online and you will not be able to meet the cat before adoption. Rest assured we have lots of information, photos and videos of our cats on our website so you can chose the right cat for you. All applications for cats are dealt with on both a first come first serve and suitability basis and there will be secondary form to complete to ensure you are a good match for the cat. For more information on rehoming please visit: https://www.cats.org.uk/axhayes/adopt-a-cat/thinking-of-adopting
Cat intake - If you are needing to rehome your cat please call us on 01395 232377 to discuss this in more detail. We will add your details to our waiting list (if centre is full at time of call) and call you once we have a pen available. Before dropping your cat out to the centre you will be given instructions on how our social distance drop off takes place. During some restrictions we will only be able to collect the cat from your residence.
Donations - Food, toy, bedding etc. can all be donated to the centre using the donation bin provided outside the reception door. The bin is emptied regularly throughout the day. If anyting is too large to fit in please just leave next to the bin. We ask kindly if possible to donate loose pouches and other small items in a carrier bag. We also have donation bins at Pets @ Home stores and Sainsbury's on Pinhoe Road. All donations big and small are greatly appreciated by the staff and cats at the centre. Please be aware of current COVID restrictions when donating - if the advice is essential travel only please do not make a special trip to the centre or other drop off points.
Monetary donations can be made either over the phone by card, cheque in the post or via the top banner of this webpage. You can also donate via our Amazon wishlist, easy fundraising, lottery and raffles etc. Please visit https://www.cats.org.uk/axhayes/support-us for more information.
Shop goods - If you normally purchase items from our shop such as litter you can still do this. Please call in advance to make a payment over the phone by card and we will have the items waiting out the front of the building for you when you arrive. We also have new shop stock available for purchase which can viewed here: https://www.cats.org.uk/axhayes/adopt-a-cat/shop-goods-for-sale
There are some normal activites we cannot currently facilitate such as:
