Volunteering

Volunteer page - Fluffy cat looking at telephoneThe Ipswich Cats Protection, along with many other Cats Protection Branches are solely run by volunteers. Every person involved in the welfare, care and re-homing of the cats, 'behind the scenes' with admin, fundraising and advertising are all volunteers.

Volunteering can help you gain valuable experience, multi transferable skills, new friends, references for your CV and enables you to share the skills that you have and know that you are making a big difference.

Help us create 'happy endings' for the cats and kittens in our care!

“The Ipswich CP is such a fantastic place to volunteer. I have been in many different roles and each one I have learnt so much, gained many new friends and most importantly really enjoyed myself.” - Megan, volunteer for 4 years and counting!

Would you consider volunteering with us?

We are always looking for people of all ages and talents to help at the Ipswich Cats Protection.
DIYers, woodworkers, electricians, knitters, seamstresses, crafters, bakers, administrators, car drivers and fundraisers. You name it, we need it!

For some roles you will not need to have any contact with the cats in our care. For example, you may want to volunteer to help fundraise or at our shop at 20 Queens Street, Ipswich, IP1 1SS.

We need you every day, once a week, once a month, whatever suits you - we just ask you be keen and reliable.

If you wish to enquire about volunteering for a role which is not mentioned above or listed at footer, please still call us.

You can contact Jean our Coordinator on 0345 371 2069 Option 4, or email coordinator@ipswich.cats.org.uk

Thank you, and we look forward to welcoming you to our small, happy and friendly team!

Lost and Found Cats Volunteer

Unfortunately our feline friends can occasionally stray or get lost, which can be extremely distressing for their owners. Our lost and found volunteers are passionate about reuniting lost cats and bringing families back together. They help cats and their owners by advertising lost cats and providing support, advice and guidance to people searching for their cats.

Newsletter editor Volunteer

Our newsletter editor volunteers tap into the nation’s love for cats, which helps raise our profile across the UK. They source and share photos, images and stories relevant to the varied and exciting things we do at Cats Protection. A higher profile can help us raise funds, promote adopting a cat, help promote neutering and encourage as many people as possible to learn about great cat welfare.
