Welcome to Macclesfield Cats Protection Branch
Due to Covid-19 our homing process has had to be adjusted, so we would like to advise you of the current procedure for adopting a cat:
*If you have seen a cat on our website that you are interested in giving a home to, please complete a contact form on this website. You can also email our branch at email@example.com, or telephone us on 01625 801802, (leaving a message in Box 3) and our Homing volunteer Lynne will be in touch with you as soon as possible. Please be aware that, in general, we are only able to help and home cats in the postcode areas that we specifically cover, i.e. SK9, SK10, SK11 and SK12, although this can sometimes include areas such as Buxton and New Mills, as no Cats Protection branch directly covers them
*Reserving your cat!: If you are found to be a good match for your chosen cat, a further telephone discussion will be arranged with Lynne. (If you live in a rented property please ensure you have the consent of your landlord). You will understand that no visit can be made either to your property or by you to meet your chosen cat, but you are welcome to have an in-depth chat with the fosterer caring for him/her, and see photos and videos.
*Adoption: Once the reservation has been agreed, you will be sent the necessary adoption paperwork, and the official adoption form needs to be completed, signed and returned. We will then arrange for you to pay an adoption fee of £70, usually by bank transfer.
*Bringing your cat home: The exciting part! Once paperwork and fee is finalised, Lynne will arrange to deliver your cat safely to your home, or, alternatively, it may be possible for you to collect your cat from the fosterer.
Support will always be there for you. We will ring you about 3,7 and 21 days after adoption to check that your new arrival has settled in well and all concerned are happy.
You can also find help and advice on the main Cats Protection website at www.cat.org.uk/advice.
You can still contact us for advice or if you require a neutering or microchipping voucher by telephoning us on 01625 801802 or by emailing us at firstname.lastname@example.org but please bear in mind that response times might be slightly longer than usual.
Neutering, vaccinating, microchipping, providing flea and worm treatment, food and litter costs the branch well over £100 per cat or kitten so we are giving you great value for the joy of giving one of our lovely cats a forever home.
Our free neutering and microchipping campaign is still running in 2020! Please click here for further information.
We also have our Lost and Found page. Please take a look and keep an eye out for any of the cats that have sadly been reported missing along with those who have been found and need to get back home.
We regularly update site content so please visit us again soon
