Milton Keynes & District Cats Protection

Due to the current situation with COVID-19 we are taking some extra precautions at this time to try and ensure that we keep our visitors and volunteers safe so we can continue to care for cats.

Jean Derbyshire

The branch are deeply saddened to have to announce the sudden passing of our wonderful and much loved volunteer Jean Derbyshire.

Jean spent over 25 years volunteering for the branch, in both fundraising and home visits, together with being a key and vital member of our committee.

We are sure many of you have met Jean at the various events she ran or the numerous home visits she conducted and are just as sad as we are here in the branch.

Rest in peace Jean - you will be very much missed. Xx

Welcome to the website for the Milton Keynes and District Branch of Cats Protection.

Ginger cat

The branch was first established in 1992, and covers Milton Keynes and the surrounding area.

Our objectives are:

  • Homing: Finding good homes for cats in need.
  • Neutering: Supporting and encouraging the neutering of cats
  • Information: Improving people's understanding of cats and their care.

The branch is run entirely by unpaid volunteers who fit Cats Protection work around jobs and family commitments, etc.

In 2021, despite the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, we rehomed over 220 stray and unwanted cats and kittens.
