A more than ‘Fayre’ result ...

The 2015 Christmas Fayre, held for the first time at St Barnabas church in Erdington, raised almost £2K for needy cats and kittens. But volunteers Jenny and Kathy couldn’t ‘let it go at that’ so went along to the Court Lane allotments event on Sunday the 6th and Christmassy sales there swelled the total take to well over the £2K mark.

Coordinator Denise has shared the good news with all the volunteers – and thanks everyone who came along and supported the event on behalf of the cats who will benefit. There were dozens of ‘behind the scenes’ supporters too – those who baked and delivered cakes and mince pies, donated goods for sale – and put their hands in their pockets or purses and popped their loose change into the collecting can.

Says Denise: “My thanks to the chief organiser of the Fayre and to all our volunteers who helped make it happen, especially Jenny and Kathy for doing two days running and wrestling with all the stock for months. And a special mention to Senga who came along despite a nasty fall on Friday, and everyone who stood outside in the cold and blustery wind – donned in regulation cat-suits of course - to welcome and encourage festive folk to come in, buy and enjoy. Goodwill abounded and, we hope, a good and giving time was had by all.”
