Delicious ‘Moment’ for moggies ...

The Lichfield branch of a national pet-chain has made a ‘most Moment-ous food donation’ to benefit needy cats and kittens in North Birmingham.

Pets-at-home took delivery of a ‘larger than expected’ order of Moments cat food, and after the period of ‘special offer’ was over, Manager Jon Hamlet decided to donate the well-in-date moggie-nosh surplus to one of the store’s partner charities. One is the Bordie Collie Trust and the other is the obvious one for the cat food donation - North Birmingham Branch of Cats Protection.

Confirmed Jon: “One of the charity’s volunteers, Cassie de Mascio, works in our Lichfield store. So who better to offer this remaining stock to than Cassie to benefit the cats. They’ve dozens of cats and kittens to feed, and the tasty ‘Moments’ pet pots are still well in date – so it was a purr-fect solution.”

Said Cassie: “My manager just rang and asked if I would like to take the boxes home so I could give it to my own CP branch. Of course, I was delighted to accept the kind offer. My colleague Amie Byrne and I got it ready and we took it to our pet food lock-up in New Oscott, where volunteer Lee Herbert was thrilled to add it to our stock."

Lee confirms: “Supporters all over North Birmingham donate cat food to the ‘feed the paw’ bins in supermarkets – and this kind donation from Pets at Home is most welcome. It’s a great quantity and four delicious flavours – yoghourt-pot style packaging rather than sachets – there’ll be many magic ‘Moments’ for our moggies now!”

Homing officer Sheila Pennell says one of the fosterers has already tried ‘Moments’ tuna flavour on ‘her fussy foster boys’ and they were fully appurr-ciative!

Branch volunteers, especially fosterers, thank Pets at Home for making this very kind and generous gesture.
