Gracechurch event ‘graced CP’ to the tune of £1,400 !

On a sunny Saturday in September the CP stall in the Mall attracted hundreds of supporters and friends and raised just over £1400, which volunteers believe is ‘the best result ever’.

Jenny of Jenny-Jams fame says on offer – besides her jam – was ‘christmassy goodies, all sorts of bricabrac and, of course, cake!’ The regular tombola was enhanced by a ‘soft toy tombola’ which went down well with the children. Certainly lots of local cats and kittens will be playing with their new toys and enjoying a nice nap on their cosy beds long before Santa checks up on whether they’ve been good!

The takings from the sales and tombola will help provide food and vet care for all the poorly kittens and cats in branch just now.

Helpers on the day included John & Maureen, Kathy, Jenny, Shaki, Lee, Ann S, Lizzie, Sue M, Margaret B and Jean H.

Consensus is that it was ‘a great day and an opportunity to promote the charity with lots of leaflets, and drum up more volunteers’. And if you missed the Mall and particularly wanted to buy CP Christmas cards, do not fret! They will be on sale at the AGM (details below) and at the Christmas Fayre, 11-4, 5th December, St Barnabas Church, Erdington.

** Anyone who would like to know more about the work of the North Birmingham Branch of Cats Protection is welcome to come along to the AGM, to be held in the United Reformed Church in Holly Lane, Erdington, 11am, 31st October.
