New treasurer David comes on board ..

There’s a change at the top in the Treasury, with new volunteer David Crowther coming forward, with bags of experience, to manage the purrs-strings for the North Birmingham Branch.

David is a chartered accountant who, by the look of that smooth tanned complexion and relaxed smile, has retired from his last role in finance ‘very early’.

His career has taken him from Coopers & Lybrand, a secondment in New Zealand, back home for audit work, then company secretary for Spear & Jackson, and finally into various Finance Director roles for companies in ‘turnaround’.

Says David, who lives in Pelsall: “I hope my financial abilities will fit the bill with this volunteer role with Cats Protection. Already I’ve met coordinator Denise and several volunteers at the Sutton Garden party, and will know more of what’s needed after meeting up with committee members. Now retired, I spend my time working around our property and following my interests - holidays, scuba, walking, and caravanning. My wife Chris shows and judges Yorkshire Terriers (we have 6) plus we have two cats - an old boy Oscar and a newer recruit, Ginny.”

No worries, David, we know you like cats best of all. Welcome aboard! And thanks to Pauline Brown and Jane Holt who will show David the ropes and continue to support him in his new role.
